Dylan Thomas Community School is set to become the latest comprehensive in Swansea to benefit from an all-weather pitch. Swansea Council’s cabinet is being asked to approve plans for the £200,000 sports facility that will also be available for community use. GP recruitment figures in Wales have reached records numbers for the third year running, with 200 new GP trainees recruited this year, a 7% increase from last year’s figure of 186. North Wales will benefit from 29 new trainees who will join speciality training schemes in Bangor, Dyffryn Clwyd and Wrexham. Achieving 200 new recruits is a substantial increase from the original target of 136 but also the increased allocation agreed last year of 160 training places. Thousands of people across the city have taken part in the first Good Food Cardiff Autumn Festival. Community groups, gardens, local businesses and schools organised 45 events and activities in the last two months, which attracted around 4,000 attendees and distributed more than 5,000 vegetable plants grown by Cardiff Council’s Bute Park Nurseries to encourage people to start growing at home. More than 50 attendees at a Cardiff party have been fined for breaching coronavirus restrictions. South Wales Police was alerted to the large gathering at a halls of residence on Friday night (November 6), and on arrival officers found music blaring and dozens of individuals inside. The winners of the inaugural Wales STEM Awards were announced on Thursday 12th November at a virtual awards ceremony hosted by Sian Lloyd.
