The UK Government’s bid to UNESCO for the Welsh slate landscape to become a World Heritage Site has been formally submitted and includes Talyllyn Railway. If successful, the bid will see Gwynedd’s Slate Landscape join such renowned places as the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal, the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
