Detectives investigating the serious assault upon a 21-year-old man have recovered two firearms on land near Harrowby Street in Butetown and a search of the area is continuing. Officers were called to Harris Avenue, Rumney, at 3.25pm on Monday, April 13 following reports of a serious assault. The victim, who is from Tremorfa, suffered injuries believed to have been caused by a machete and a shot gun. He underwent surgery at the University Hospital of Wales but has since been discharged from hospital. Artistic care home residents have created a spectacular display to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day. The new owner of Swansea’s grade two listed Albert Hall has announced exciting plans for its future. Simon Baston, director of LoftCo that specialises in 24/7 sustainable living, wants to undertake work to the value of £7m to preserve the former Victorian music hall for future generations.
