Macmillan Wales warns many people with cancer are facing anxious and unacceptable waits for their treatment, as new statistics reveal around 1,200 people in Wales didn’t start their cancer treatment on time in a year. The warning follows publication of the annual cancer waiting times report, which reveals information on cancer waiting times from across each health board in Wales.  An estimated 100 people in Wales did not start their cancer treatment on time every month between 2017 and 2018. A housing association has unveiled a new £1.5 million affordable housing scheme as part of plans to regenerate Colwyn Bay. The former doctor’s surgery in Pwllcrochan Avenue has been converted and extended by Cartrefi Conwy to create 14 apartments eight with two bedrooms and six with one bedroom. A keen rugby player from Caerphilly hosted a successful youth rugby tournament to raise funds and awareness for Diabetes UK Cymru. Simeon Greenaway-Robbins, 16, was only diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in April last year. He organised the fundraising event with his teammates at Caerphilly RFC. A predatory paedophile who abused three children is today starting a 25-year jail term after being convicted of 19 child sexual offences. Vincent Slater, 57 (left), was convicted at a previous hearing at Swansea Crown Court of a string of offences including rape, sexual assault, assault by penetration, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
