A series of tennis events brought together more than 250 school pupils from across Swansea. The three weeks of Jim Lightbody Swansea Primary Schools Tennis Festivals were hosted at secondary schools and on tennis courts at Sketty’s De La Beche Park. They offered children aged seven to 11 a fun and inclusive introduction to the sport. They were organised by Swansea Council’s sport and health team and delivered by tennis coach Ellinore Lightbody. Main roads into Swansea city centre are set to be resurfaced as part Swansea Council’s latest highway maintenance plans. The Council has just published its schedule for road resurfacing schemes for 2025/26, which features more than 30 roads that will be upgraded along all or part of their overall length. Two major routes included in the upgrade will target parts of Carmarthen Road and Fabian Way. The two-storey extension provides additional classrooms to accommodate up to an additional 80 pupils with specialist intervention areas, a new soft playroom and outdoor play spaces together with a relocated memorial garden and school allotment area.
