St David’s Cardiff has hosted its enterprise challenge, ‘Made in Cardiff’, with two local schools. Made in Cardiff is a cross-school competition with students tasked with designing a brand-new community space for the city before going head to head in Dragons’ Den-style pitches. Scientists are deploying an early warning system to closely monitor how rapidly the Greenland ice sheet is melting and help predict potential climate tipping points. For the first time, a comprehensive network of seismic sensors will be installed in Greenland to ‘listen’ to the vibrations caused by flowing water. The system will allow scientists to continuously monitor meltwater runoff from major glacier outlets in almost real time. A man from Neath Port Talbot has been jailed after carrying out violent attacks against two female victims. 29-year-old Scott Miller, from Aberdulais, assaulted the two victims on multiple separate occasions. He pulled the first victim to the ground by their hair before repeatedly punching her to the face, causing her to strike her head on a door frame. He left this victim with a number of injuries. While on bail for the above offences, Miller assaulted his second victim on more than one occasion, including putting his hands around this victim’s throat, causing her to suffer a panic attack.…

A motorcyclist and pillion passenger have sadly died following a road traffic collision in Wrexham. Shortly before 11pm on Friday, 21 March, police were notified by the ambulance service of a single vehicle collision on Wrexham Road, New Broughton, involving a yellow Honda 125cc motorcycle. Emergency services attended and two casualties, aged 18 and 19 years old, were taken to hospital in Wrexham where they sadly died. Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet has approved that 1 September 2026 will be the revised delivery date for Coety Primary School’s extension, which will coincide with the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year. Following a consultation process, plans were confirmed to increase the school’s capacity from 420 to 525 places for pupils aged four to eleven years, with some of the features of the expansion to include a four-classroom extension, additional facilities such as toilets, cloakrooms and storage space. Cardiff Council is announcing a major change in its waste management services – the resumption of fortnightly garden waste collections will now be year-round. Garden waste collections across the city began again this week following the winter break, but now residents will be able to have their garden waste collected every fortnight for 50 weeks of the year. That’s 25 garden waste collections a year – up from 18 a year.
