Neath Port Talbot Council has entered into an agreement with long established fairground company Studts Events Ltd to bring a spectacular, 118ft high ‘big wheel’ ride to the Aberavon Seafront this year. Subject to planning permission, the ride, known as The Big Wheel at Aberavon Seafront, will operate in the summer months up to 2027. Pupils and staff at Pontyclun Primary School will return to a brand new, first-class learning environment following the half term break. Construction of a new main building for the school has recently been completed, following a major joint investment by the Council and Welsh Government. The modern two-storey building is ready to open its doors for the first time, and will welcome pupils from Thursday, March 6. A £1million support fund has been launched ahead of Cymru women’s first-ever European championship footballing appearance later this year. On Saturday 5 July, the Cymru Women’s team will make history when they face the Netherlands for their first game at the UEFA Euro 2025 tournament in Switzerland. Work will soon begin on site in Holyhead to strengthen the grid connection for the Menter Môn Morlais tidal energy scheme. This is another important milestone for the project, which will see clean low carbon electricity generated off the coast of Anglesey.
