A teenager has been arrested after threats were made relating to a secondary school in Powys. Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that a 17-year-old boy from Pontardawe has been arrested following an investigation into digital communications linked to Ysgol Maesydderwen in Ystradgynlais. The teenager was arrested on suspicion of sending digital communications conveying threats of death or serious harm with the intent to cause fear. He currently remains in police custody while enquiries continue. Drivers using the A55 in North Wales are being warned about overnight closures and contraflow systems at the Conwy Tunnel next week while essential maintenance work takes place. Traffic Wales has confirmed that a series of night time restrictions will affect the tunnel between Monday, March 9 and Sunday, March 15. From Monday, March 9 until Friday, March 13, the westbound carriageway will be closed between 7pm and 7am. A couple from Rhondda have been jailed after having sex in a public space. The incident took place on February 23, 2026, where officers received a call from the owner of a café in Talbot Green alleging two people had broken into the outdoor seating area at the venue and were caught on CCTV having sex.
