Monmouth-based Carebeans has been acquired by RLDatix, a specialist in connected healthcare operations software and services.  Providing unique benefits and functionalities for different users, Carebeans offers a cloud-based system for residential and nursing care homes and the full spectrum of supported living including domiciliary care, disability, and mental health services. This week, fans of all ages took a pew next to Paddington as STUDIOCANAL unveiled a statue of the marmalade loving bear in Cardiff. Launched as part of Paddington Visits, a trail of Paddington Bear statues across the UK and Ireland to celebrate the forthcoming release of PADDINGTON IN PERU, arriving in cinemas on November 8th, Paddington took a seat on a bench in St David’s Centre and was immediately embraced by the local community. When she first met her foster carers – her tail did not stop wagging. And that sums up Bea to a tea – one happy little girl. Despite her past – where she was removed from a filthy property which smelt of cat urine and had faeces on the floor – she has never failed to greet anyone without a wag of the tail. Future visitors to a popular Swansea museum will be able to experience the sounds and smells of ancient Egypt, thanks to £300,000 of Welsh Government support. Swansea University’s Egypt Centre is set to revamp and improve its House of Death gallery after securing the support from the Cultural Transformation Capital Grant Programme. The award-winning Centre at the Singleton Campus is Wales’ only dedicated museum of ancient Egyptian antiquities and attracts around 20,000 visitors every year. A 38-year-old man has been jailed after sexually assaulting a teenager in July last year. Terrance Lloyd, of no fixed abode, appeared at Llandudno Magistrates Court on Friday October 4th after being found guilty of sexual assault. On July 2nd 2023, Lloyd followed a 13-year-old girl into her home in Bangor where he slapped her on the bum. Despite the victim telling him to stop, he continued to ask her for her phone number even after she told him her age. He was jailed for 44 weeks. He must also register with the police for a period of seven years.…

A partnership is offering Welsh learners the chance to test their language skill in the great outdoors. The Clwydian Range and Dee valley National Landscapes has teamed up with Menter Iaith Wrecsam a Fflint to host outdoor guided walks in some of the area’s well-known locations through the medium of Welsh. A successful guided walk has already been held at Ty Mawr Country Park and this month a walk will be held at Loggerheads Country Park on October 10 at 2pm, followed by another walk at Chirk Castle on October 28, again at 2pm. Up to 100 new electric vehicle charging points could be installed with Cardiff Council support over the next two years. The plans are part of a newly published ‘Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Roadmap’to help aid the transition to electric vehicles, which also sets out the local authority’s plan to focus initially on supporting public EV charging in areas with low levels of off-street parking including Heath, Gabalfa, Cathays, Roath, Penylan, Adamsdown, Riverside, Canton, Grangetown and Butetown. It is an exciting time for the popular Haverfordwest Farmers Market as the traders officially take over the running of the weekly market at Castle Square. Pembrokeshire County Council, with help from PAVS, have aided traders to become independently operated through a registered Community Interest Company. The move means the Farmers Market, first set up by the Council in 1999, can continue to grow and access other funding options previously not available.
