Sisters have followed in their late father’s footsteps as a tribute to his memory and his love of charity fundraising. David Catley was a patient in the Chemotherapy Day Unit, part of the South West Wales Cancer Centre in Singleton Hospital, for two years. The retired Royal Mail transport manager died in August last year at the age of 74. He had been diagnosed with bladder cancer but fought right up until the end. Persimmon’s donation builds on a growing partnership with Bridgend College, with the bricks being used to train students and apprentices at the Persimmon Construction Academy at Parc Llanilid, Pontyclun. Molly Leonard, 26, from Rhoose, Cardiff won the Kings Trust Young Achiever Award after finding solace in crafting and using her passion and skills to help others. They were caught red-handed by officers who were on patrol in Cardiff. In March, 2024, Aladje Balde and Bavine Durame, both 21, were travelling in a white Toyota Yarris in Roath, Cardiff, when they were seen by roads policing officers.
