Cardiff Bus has announced it has introduced a new bus route for students as it partners with Cardiff & Vale College ahead of the new term.

Starting from 5 September students will benefit from a new service that will provide access to all of the main campus sites Monday to Friday.

The new C1 ‘CAVC Rider’ route will service Cardiff City Centre, CAVC City Centre Campus at Dumballs Road, Hadfield Road (ASDA) for House of Sport, CAVC Barry Campus and CAVC ICAT Campus.

Matt Gower, spokesperson for Cardiff and Vale College, said: “Cardiff and Vale College are excited to partner with Cardiff Bus to introduce the ‘CAVC Rider’ that will provide our students with the opportunity to travel between our main Cardiff and Barry campuses with ease.

“Learners will benefit from direct access to specialist courses and facilities including the ICAT Aerospace Campus at Cardiff Airport, sports and fitness facilities at the House of Sport and FE, HE and Apprenticeship programmes at our Cardiff and Barry campuses.

“We are also delighted to offer this service free of charge for all current CAVC Students helping to reduce the cost of accessing our fantastic education.”

Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director of Cardiff Bus, said: “We are always looking for ways in which we can improve our services for our customers, and we are delighted to be working with Cardiff & Vale College to enhance public transport options for students.

“Our services provide a safe and dependable way to travel across the city and campus, and this latest service will enable passengers to track busses and view live timetables within our app, which we recommend students download for the start of term.

“We are looking forward to welcoming all students on board this term and we wish them every success for the upcoming academic year.”
