Magenta has been awarded Exemplar Employer ‘Leading’ status by gender equality charity Chwarae Teg for its efforts in improving its workplace culture and practices – the highest level of this award available.

Chwarae Teg’s Exemplar Employer Award is presented to employers who have demonstrated their commitment to creating and sustaining a fair and inclusive workplace. The award is presented using anonymous feedback from existing employees, along with a review of working practices by a member of the Chwarae Teg Business Programme.

Magenta started to work with Chwarae Teg in 2017 as part of the Agile Nation 2 project which is fully funded by the European Social Fund and Welsh Government.

The Agile Nation 2 project helps women to achieve and prosper by working with employers to implement modern working practices to improve equality, diversity and sustainability.

In 2017 Magenta were awarded the ‘Achieving’ status of the award and over the past year have worked hard and made some significant changes to improve working practices and team communication within the business – and on reassessment this year – have been awarded the higher level Leading award.

Gemma Littlejohns, Senior Business Partner for Chwarae Teg’s Agile Nation 2 Project said:

“Whilst working with Magenta Financial Planning, I have witnessed how the management team have always strived to go the extra mile in ensuring they create an environment that promotes inclusion, honesty and trust. I am delighted that we are able to present Magenta with our Leading Exemplar Employer Award – the highest standard that can be attained within the award structure.”

    Gretchen Betts from Magenta said:

“We are really pleased to have received the Exemplar Employer Leading award from Chwarae Teg.  As a result of working with Chwarae Teg on the Agile Nation 2 project we have made several changes to our working practices and seen an improvement in our workforce happiness and understanding of our working policies.

We believe that the policies we have developed and introduced will make Magenta a better business to work for and will help us with future recruitment and business development.”
