The Welsh Government Minister for Local Government and Finance visited Ty Penallta last week week to find out more about the ‘Mobilising Team Caerphilly’ programme.

Rebecca Evans MS was joined by the Leader and Chief Executive as she took time out of her busy schedule to discover how CCBC plans to improve and transform services in future.

The Minister had the opportunity to speak to programme leads and gain a clear understanding about the emerging themes and proposals that will change the way in which the council operates as we rethink and reshape the way we deliver our services to the community.

Cllr Sean Morgan, Leader of Council explained, “Word is spreading about what we are doing here collectively as Team Caerphilly. The significant real terms cuts to budgets that we and all other councils are experiencing, are demanding a different approach. It’s either service cutbacks, or innovate and improve. I’m confident that this innovative and challenging work is going to deliver significant change that will be tangible and positive for our residents.

And went on to say, “It was great to get the opportunity to welcome the Minister to Penallta House to discover the amazing work that is really gathering pace at the moment. I think it’s fair to say she was very impressed with what she saw and we were happy to showcase the dedication and enthusiasm of all those involved in this ambitious transformation programme,”
