Secret Millionaire will only build in Wales after launching new property business

A DEVELOPER is aiming to create jobs and take a greener approach to housebuilding in North Wales after launching a new property business.

Bearmont Homes has received permission to build five luxury three and four-bed detached houses in Gaerwen, Anglesey.

CEO Rob Lloyd, from Rhos-on-Sea, is rebuilding his portfolio having previously owned Eatonfield Group PLC and a Cheshire-based horse-racing company.

He is excited at the prospect of employing local trades and construction workers, supporting the region’s economy and focusing on key sites across the country.

“The Herb Garden is in a wonderful location on Anglesey, so I am confident we will receive a lot of interest,” said Rob,

“To have Kevin Ratcliffe opening the development is just fantastic, as I know he’s a firm favourite with football fans and a great ambassador for Bearmont Homes.”

Rob is in discussions over a handful of other sites in North Wales and insists he will grow the business over the coming months.

“Property development is all I know, combined with my eye for business and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Rob.

“I’ll be exchanging contracts on a number of other sites in the next few weeks in strategic areas, and that’s the way we will grow.

“Using the same model I had at Eatonfield will give me a firm base, but of course I’ll take with me all of the lessons I’ve learnt in the past and use them to build Bearmont Group up to be a leading housebuilder and developer here in Wales.

“And we will only build in Wales, that’s something I’m very passionate about. I’m sure we will be involved in other sites across the UK, but in terms of the developments we take forward they will all be in this country.”

Already working with partners locally, the dad-of-four is now focused on creating top quality homes and maintaining a high standard to ensure a smooth period of expansion.

“I have always built first-class properties and the environment and conservation aspect has been a big part of that,” added Rob, who completed the London Marathon for disability charity Sense last month.

“The knock-on effect is going to be huge, and the Herb Garden alone will create up to 10 construction jobs before you take into account the trades, plumbers and electricians and the suppliers we will use locally for kitchens, windows and interiors.

“It’s a start, and of course I like to think big, but sustainability is key to the future of Bearmont Homes, and then who knows where that will take us.”
