The good weather coupled with entertainment from the world’s leading Abba tribute band, created the perfect recipe for Ladies Day at Ffos Las on Friday (23 August) as almost four thousand people turned out for the annual summer event.

[aoa id=”1″]Dressed in their finery, the ladies – and men – were treated to an exciting afternoon of flat racing followed by a top-class performance from Bjorn Again who were last seen opening the famous Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. The awesome foursome belted out Abba’s mega-hits and provided singalong fun to the thousands attending Ladies Day which was sponsored by Heatforce.[/aoa]

As ever, there were prizes handed out for the best dressed with Gemma Rees winning £1,000 for Best Dressed Lady; Sian Nelson winning a £400 voucher for Victoria Hats & Fascinators from Kidwelly, a Pandora Bracelet as well as other gifts for Best Hat; and Chris Armstrong picking up a £500 Slaters Menswear voucher for Best Dressed Gentleman.

Gemma Rees – Ladies Day – best dressed winner

Ffos Las General Manager, Simon Rowlands, said: “We were very excited to welcome Bjorn Again to Ffos Las after they caused such a stir at Glastonbury this year and they certainly didn’t disappoint! Fun was definitely the name of the game on Friday!

“Ladies Day is always special at Ffos Las and Bjorn Again coupled with the amazing weather helped us up the ante again this year. We’re now looking forward to putting on an equally impressive day for the gents when we host our Gentleman’s Day on October 19!”
