New x-ray equipment with better image quality and reliability is set to be rolled out to hospitals across North Wales. The new equipment, which will be easier for NHS staff to use, supports a range of procedures and imaging requirements for patients and expose people to lower doses of x-rays when images are taken. Colwyn Bay, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Wrexham Maelor and Ysbyty Gwynedd hospitals will all benefit from the new equipment as part of a £4.4m investment from the Welsh Government. The idea of drones delivering defibrillators to people suffering a cardiac arrest in the UK has moved a step closer to becoming reality. Researchers funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) have carried out pioneering tests using drones to respond to 999 calls during emergency simulations. Visitors to Clydach Vale Country Park may notice works activity this week, with routine maintenance activity scheduled over the weeks ahead. The Council will undertake the works from Monday, September 15, and they are planned to last until around the end of October 2025. Funding has been secured from Welsh Government’s Coal Tip Safety Grant Scheme for this initial phase of work, which will include vegetation clearance to maintain the drainage channels and culverts.
