A state-of-the-art new office development in Swansea is now taking shape at a spot where revellers once partied the night away. These photos show recent progress on foundation works for the 71/72 Kingsway scheme that’s located at the former Oceana nightclub site in the city centre. Cabinet agreed this week to deploy Welsh Government funding to expand Family Engagement Officer (FEO) roles across the County, based on the highest identified need and to benefit pupils across all phases – primary, secondary and Pupil Referral Unit learners. The recent announcement by Welsh Government of funding for Family Engagement Officers, in addition to the funding previously agreed by Cabinet and match funded by schools, has allowed the expansion of the scheme. Last week, VirginMediaO2 visited Caerphilly Leisure Centre to witness the installation of the new Automatic Defibrillator. VirginMediaO2 completed their ‘Lightning’ project in Caerphilly County Borough and expanded the network to around 12,000 homes. Customers will be able to take benefit from the new Gig 1 service which can deliver average broadband speeds of 516mbs download (50x faster than the standard UK broadband), along with the TV and phone bundles. A programme which will transform education in Powys has today been relaunched, the county council has announced. Powys County Council’s Transforming Education Programme was relaunched by Cllr Pete Roberts, Cabinet Member for a Learning Powys at reception held at Tŵr Brycheiniog on the first day of the Royal Welsh Show (Monday, 18 July).
