Swansea Council has launched formal legal action against the Welsh Rugby Union in a bid to halt the proposed sale of Cardiff Rugby to Y11 Sport & Media. Traffic Wales has reported congestion on the westbound carriageway between Junction 23 at Rogiet and Junction 26 at Malpas. A man has been charged to court after cash and drugs were seized during a plain clothes patrol in Ely. South Wales Police confirmed that around £8,300 in cash and 809 grams of cannabis were recovered by officers on Wednesday evening in the Ely area of Cardiff. The seizure was made by officers carrying out proactive patrols, targeting suspected drug activity in the community. One man was arrested in Heol Trelai and has since been charged to appear at court. Police say the action forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt drug supply and associated criminality in Cardiff’s neighbourhoods.

Yesterday (Thursday, February 26) officers were deployed, alongside partners from Cardiff Council, to Whitchurch, Ely, Canton, Riverside and the city centre. More than 40 e-bikes were checked in the city centre along with only 7 being found to be illegal, in total 13 vehicles were seized. This is ongoing partnership work is targeting the illegal and dangerously ridden e-bikes and off-road vehicles in our towns. Last month 55 were seized over two days. Since 2015, more than £70 million has been invested through the Community Facilities Programme, supporting almost 500 projects across Wales. The funding has helped community-led organisations, including charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises, improve local facilities, restore historic buildings and create welcoming, practical spaces for everyday use. This week, the Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice visited two projects in the Wrexham area supported by the programme.
