Swansea University is delighted to announce that it will be the new front of shirt sponsor for Swansea City ahead of the forthcoming 2020-21 season. The University will sit on the front of the first-team’s new home and away shirts for the duration of the upcoming Championship campaign. The logo will also feature on the home and away shirts of the club’s under-23 and ladies teams, while the club’s young supporters will now be able to wear the same replica shirt. Snowdonia National Park Authority is introducing further improvements, including the ability for visitors to pre-book parking at the Pen-y-Pass. The pre-booking system at Pen-y-Pass car park will operate on weekends and bank holidays for the remainder of the summer. This short term pilot, which has been agreed with by Gwynedd Council and North Wales police, will be implemented as a way to assess possible new management models which are aligned with the long term plans for a new and innovative parking and transport system in the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and Ogwen areas. Tesco is to hold an extra summer food collection to support the Trussell Trust and FareShare as they respond to an increased demand for food in the wake of the pandemic, and stores in South Wales are taking part. From August 20 to 22 special donation points will be put up at every Tesco Superstore and Extra store, with customers being asked to donate essential items of long-life food. Jack Parry has landed a placement with Raytheon UK, a global technology giant focused on aerospace, defence and cyber and intelligence. Tens of thousands of teenagers in Wales are set to benefit for the first time from money in Child Trust Funds (CTFs) that has been waiting for them since they were young children. Since 2002, around 6.3 million CTF accounts have been set up, roughly 4.5 million by parents or guardians and a further 1.8 million set up by HMRC where parents or guardians did not open an account. Lesley Griffiths, the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, visited the site of the works in Rhyl this week. In the December of 2013, Rhyl – along with other parts of coastal Denbighshire – was hit by some of the worst flooding in 20 years, with many residents having to temporarily leave their homes due to flood damage.
