Staff and students from UWTSD’s Lampeter campus have found artefacts dating back to the ‘New Stone Age’ (Neolithic) during an archaeological dig at Llanllyr in Talsarn, Ceredigion.  [aoa id=”1″]This exercise is part of an undergraduate fieldwork module enabling participants to obtain field practice in archaeology.  Excavations have centred on low mounds surrounded by marshland that they believe formed dry ground in the Prehistoric past.  These ‘islands’ of dry ground appear to have been the focus of activity in the Neolithic period (between 4 and 6 thousand years ago) when people left behind traces of activity in the form of flint…

Ahmed Ismail Ali, 34, from Christina Street, Butetown has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for the attempted murder of his former partner. The incident began at around 2pm Sunday, February 24, Ali assaulted the 26-year-old woman with a brick at her home in Rutland Street, Grangetown. She managed to escape but he chased her to the nearby Premier Stores in Cornwall Street where he stabbed her numerous times to the neck and head. South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious injury single vehicle Road Traffic Collision that occurred at approximately 0050 hrs hours on Wednesday 29th May 2019 at A4109 Neath Road Crynant Neath.
