One of Wales’ top Michelin star chefs, Chris Harrod of The Whitebrook Restaurant with Rooms was among the four winners of Great British Menu last week. The Construction Wales Innovation Centre (CWIC),based at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s(UWTSD) new £350m SA1 Swansea Waterfront Development, has officially opened today (Thursday 18th October). Macmillan Cancer Support has launched a £240,000 service at Velindre Cancer Centre, to help people to get the right support during their treatment. An appeal to train over 5,000 potential lifesavers in Wales across September has proven hugely successful – training over and above the number intended. Throughout September, Wales’ leading first aid charity, St John Cymru, held 2-hour community training sessions free to the public to increase the awareness of vital first aid and equip the public with lifesaving skills. The number of homes being built in Wales grew firmly in the third quarter of the year, driving overall growth in construction activity, according to figures from the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Construction & Infrastructure Market Survey.
