An expanding family-run firm is investing £500,000 to create a new showroom centre for its blossoming garden rooms business. Rubicon Garden Rooms has already started the transformation of the site, a former farmyard near the North Wales/Cheshire border, to meet the demand from customers eager to use their garden spaces. Bosses said the demand for its garden rooms, especially home offices, gyms, entertainment spaces, art studios and granny annexes, mushroomed during the Covid pandemic and has been growing ever since. Today marks 30 years since the launch of the first leading online dating website and comes as the Barclays Scams Bulletin reveals that romance scams are continuing to rise. Just as the popularity of online dating and dating apps has increased over the decades, so too has the number of fraudsters targeting potential victims. On Sunday March 17, 2024, officers were flagged down by a member of the public reporting that two people had been run over on Merthyr Road in Pentrebach. The victims were walking towards Merthyr town centre when a grey Audi A3 also travelling in that direction, swerved onto the wrong side of the road, mounting the kerb, and hitting them both.
