A major new £110 million education campus in Cardiff is continuing to take shape, with pupils already benefiting from state-of-the-art facilities ahead of its full opening later this year. Cantonian High School students have now spent six months learning in part of the new Fairwater Community Campus, a landmark development that will eventually bring together three schools on one site. One of Wales’ biggest celebrations of Welsh language culture returns to Cardiff Castle this weekend as Tafwyl marks its 20th anniversary. South Wales Police is appealing for information to help locate a missing woman from the Glyncoch area. Alison Lloyd, 50, was reported missing and was last seen at around 6am on Thursday, June 18, on Porcher Avenue, Glyncoch. She is described as having short red hair and was last seen wearing a grey striped cardigan, black leggings and a red capped T-shirt. Three stolen vehicles have been recovered in and around Newport following a series of police operations carried out by Gwent Police’s Roads Policing and Dog Section. Officers located a stolen Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 and Fiat 500 during separate incidents, with one arrest made and enquiries continuing to identify a driver who fled the scene. The first vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf, was found parked in Caerleon displaying false registration plates. South Wales Police will deploy its Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology in Cardiff city centre on Friday, June 19, as part of efforts to support local neighbourhood policing. The force says the technology is used to help locate wanted suspects, identify high-risk missing people and find individuals who may pose a risk to themselves or others. The attacks were over a four month period last year A Rhyl man who attacked five strangers over a four-month period last year has been jailed. 24-year-old Colin Cambell of Rhyl, appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday June 16th, where he was jailed for seven and a half years. Cambell had previously admitted assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, GBH with intent and two counts of assault. He was found guilty after trial of another charge of GBH.
