A taekwondo instructor who groomed and sexually assaulted young boys has been jailed. Glen Edwards, of Victoria Road in Wrexham, was sentenced at Mold Crown Court via video link from prison this week, Monday July 29th to six years and 10 months in prison. The 32-year-old was found guilty by a jury of a number of child sex offences and had admitted several more at an earlier hearing. Swansea city centre has a new place to enjoy coffee – and to take in some great art. The new café is based at the council-run Glynn Vivian Art Gallery. It’s being run by the people behind the successful HQ Urban Kitchen which has operated nearby in Orchard Street since 2022 and which remains open. RCT’s Cabinet has considered revised plans for the future primary school provision for the Llanilid housing development. Members have agreed to consult on the new proposals – to establish a new Welsh Medium school, and to change Dolau Primary into an English Medium setting. The consultation is due to start this September. George Street Bridge will be closed on Sunday 11 August from 6.30am until 9pm for major resurfacing work. Closures will be in place from the junction with Corporation Road on the eastern side, to the junction with Granville Street and Lower Dock Street on the western side. Diversions will be in place via the A48 SDR bridge, and via Clarence Place and the Newport Bridge, and will be clearly signposted. Footpaths on the bridge will remain open throughout the work. The full day closure is required to ensure that work is undertaken safely.
