One man from Aberdare and one man from Newport have received football banning orders which prevents them from attending any UK football match for three years. The two men attended the Cardiff City vs Newport County game in the Vertu Trophy match on Tuesday October 7. Gavin Fernquest from Newport attended Cardiff Magistrates Court on Friday October 24 where he pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of a pyrotechnic device inside the stadium. South Wales Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at 3:12pm on Monday September 29, 2025, near Morrisons on Ffordd Y Mileniwm, Barry. The collision involved a black Mercedes C220 and pedestrian Jacqueline Ellis. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who is yet to come forward who may have witnessed the collision, the manner of driving before the collision, or have any dash-camera footage/CCTV which may be relevant to their investigation.
