Drivers using the A55 in North Wales are being warned about overnight closures and contraflow systems at the Conwy Tunnel next week while essential maintenance work takes place. Traffic Wales has confirmed that a series of night time restrictions will affect the tunnel between Monday, March 9 and Sunday, March 15. From Monday, March 9 until Friday, March 13, the westbound carriageway will be closed between 7pm and 7am. During these hours, a contraflow system will operate through the tunnel using the eastbound carriageway. The traffic arrangement will then switch for the remainder of the works. A couple from Rhondda have been jailed after having sex in a public space. The incident took place on February 23, 2026, where officers received a call from the owner of a café in Talbot Green alleging two people had broken into the outdoor seating area at the venue and were caught on CCTV having sex. Anthony Evans, 42 from Rhondda and Leah Evans, 37 from Rhondda have both been jailed for three months following their conviction.
