Bridgend County Borough Council’s Cabinet will discuss additional Welsh Government funding that has been secured for Bryngarw Country Park at a meeting next week. In September 2019, the local authority, in partnership with Awen Cutural Trust, was awarded a £500,000 Valleys Regional Park Discovery Sites Capital Grant by Welsh Government for projects at the country park, including the development of a new education centre, re-development of the visitor centre, facilities to promote active travel, tree planting and the creation of a wildlife pond. RSPCA Cymru is warning pet owners in the Whitland area to be vigilant after a cat was shot in the head with an air gun. The concerning incident took place on 11 December when the black and white cat – Luna – returned home with a horrifying wound. She was taken to the vets where an air gun pellet was found in her head which was removed successfully. Luckily Luna has survived the shocking incident and is recovering from her ordeal.
