Wales followed England in banning smoking in public places in 2007, a year after it was introduced in other parts of the United Kingdom. The new law had its roots in a Public Health white paper published three years earlier that proposed the ban. Last week, TGI Fridays reopened 24 restaurant across the UK with a new click & collect service. Restaurants in the UK have been shut since the Government introduced lockdown and a number of social distancing measures to help curb the spread of coronavirus. The coronavirus lockdown in Wales will be extended for a further three weeks, with minor adjustments proposed but maximum caution maintained to ensure the virus does not spread, First Minister Mark Drakeford has confirmed. To tackle the spread of coronavirus, the Welsh Government introduced regulations in March, which impose strict restrictions on gatherings, the movement of people and the operation of businesses, including closures, in Wales. First Minister Mark Drakeford is today asking Wales to unite in a two-minute silence at 11am, to mark 75 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe. The team at Front Runner Events has launched a brand new virtual run that everyone can take part in. The event follows the launch of their very first virtual event that took place during April, almost 800 runners took part.
