Older people’s charity, Age Connects Cardiff and the Vale, continues its long-standing commitment to supporting vulnerable and isolated older people living in our communities amidst the coronavirus outbreak. Cardiff and Vale’s first paramedic practitioner, Vivian Carley, has achieved an Independent Prescribing qualification, thanks to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Mr Carley, who resides at Llantwit Fadre, has been working in the urgent care out-of-hours centre at Cardiff Royal Infirmary since 2018. Now, thanks to his newly-achieved qualification, Vivian can prescribe certain medications for patients who have urgent care needs outside of General Practice working hours, reducing the wait and need to see a GP for patients. Farmers from Anglesey have raised concerns about the future of farming with local MP Virginia Crosbie in light of the ongoing uncertainty on trade deals, food imports and the lack of frameworks in the UK. As part of this decision, all public events on library premises will be postponed or cancelled initially for a period of three months. Despite the falling wholesale price of oil and fuel, savings are failing to be passed onto motorists according to FairFuelUK. The data shows that since Christmas, the price of oil has fallen by 89%. Meanwhile, the wholesale petrol price has fallen by 24% but price at the pumps has only seen 1% of these savings passed on. While diesel has fallen 19%, yet retail has only fallen 3%.
