To celebrate the achievements of Wales’ very own Geraint Thomas at Le Tour this year, Welsh Cycling is planning a celebration cycle ride tomorrow (Sunday, 29th July), starting at 7:30pm. [aoa id=”1″] The lap of honour will start outside the National Assembly building in Cardiff Bay, before crossing the barrage and heading up the Taff Trail to Cardiff Castle. This year teams ran in a relay format through the main Caerphilly Big Cheese site, over the bridge to the Castle’s rear entrance and back to the main site. The Wales Farm Safety Partnership will receive £46,000 to promote Health and Safety within the agricultural and forestry sector, Cabinet Secretary for Energy, Planning and Rural Affairs Lesley Griffiths announced this week. The funding will be used to support the Partnership’s campaign ‘Working together to make farming safer’. A team of four Cardiff Met staff successfully took on the famous ‘Monte Carlo or Bust Rally’ last week to raise money for the University’s Student Hardship Fund. After purchasing a car for under £500, the group joined more than 70 teams to travel across five European cities in three days in aid of charity.
