£1.5m has been announced by the Welsh Government to support and expand safe and warm places for people of all ages to access within local communities. The hubs, which are across Wales, provide spaces for people to be able to socialise and access services and advice over the coming months. A project that enables families to swap children’s and adults’ clothes, school uniforms and essential items has officially opened at the Priory Church in Wales School in Brecon, thanks to Green Man’s support. Steelworker Liam Todd has his designs on a career outside the industry – selling bespoke teamwear to sports teams. Liam, who is leaving the Port Talbot works after taking redundancy, has established Todd10Sports with the aid of a £7500 Regeneration Loan from Tata Steel subsidiary UKSE. Drugs, electric scooters, and mobile phones have been seized following a police operation in Cardiff. Officers from a range of department, including Roads Policing Unit and the Dog Section, are working with local Neighbourhood Teams to target areas where concerns have been raised by the community. A man from Neath Port Talbot has been jailed after committing multiple burglaries and a theft on the same night. 35-year-old Craig Leismeier, from Margam, committed his offences in the area of Taibach, Port Talbot on the night of Monday September 30. He targeted a licensed premises and a charity shop and was also responsible for the theft of a tip jar at a restaurant. Leismeier, who was on a suspended sentence at the time of his offending, has now been sentenced to six months in prison. Free education resources are now available to support schools in learning about the history of the Dee Valley. ‘Our Picturesque Landscape’ is a National Lottery Heritage Funded Project that has been working in the landscape of the Dee Valley and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal World Heritage Site since 2018. Pembrokeshire students have had the opportunity to take part in an educational and immersive experience on the Aquaculture Remote Classroom (ARC) on its maiden voyage to Wales. The exciting visit gave future generations an introduction to aquaculture and to explore the opportunities for Pembrokeshire. The ARC was developed in Ireland by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM).
