An opticians in Prestatyn has raised £2,057 for local causes by hosting a charity fundraiser to mark its 20-year anniversary. Since it opened in 2004, Specsavers Prestatyn has provided high-quality eye care for optical and contact lens customers, growing from just six employees and two test rooms to four test rooms and a team of 23 dedicated members of staff. The playground in Cae Ddôl, Ruthin, reopened to the public following works to replace the old equipment as part of an Accessible Play Area Provision project. Denbighshire County Council’s Accessible Play Area Provision received £300,000 from the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity fund to deliver accessible play provision within the County. Shoppers heading into Swansea city centre can travel on buses for free on weekends in the countdown to Christmas starting on November 16. Christmas can be an expensive time and the council has committed to help families save money on travel costs by offering free bus travel during the festive period. Pen y Dre High School in Merthyr Tydfil will become Wales first refurbished net zero carbon school. The first full net zero carbon refurbishment of its kind, not only will the school be carbon neutral but once complete surplus electricity will be supplied to Prince Charles Hospital through the private wire scheme.
