Team UK have delivered an impressive performance at the EuroSkills competition in Denmark, with Wales playing a key role winning a third of the medals secured. Team UK walked away with a bronze medal and five medallions of excellence.  Wales received two medallions of excellence. A young couple have been able to start their own gardening business thanks to a £10,000 micro loan from the Development Bank of Wales. Based in Newtown, Powys, Slate and Soil Gardens is run by lifelong gardeners Luke Aldridge, aged 31, and Stephanie Hicks, aged 25. Between them, they have more than a decade of experience in working in gardens, landscaping and groundskeeping, from Azores vineyards to Welsh campsites. Welsh rugby icon Alun Wyn Jones has launched Adult Learners’ Week 2025, stepping into a new role as ambassador for a national campaign that celebrates lifelong learning. Aberystwyth University historians have published a landmark new book about the main supporters of Owain Glyndŵr’s rebellion on the national day to commemorate him. The Welsh rebellion began on 16 September 1400 when fifteen leading men from the north-east gathered at Glyndŵr’s home in Glyndyfrdwy and, jointly, proclaimed him Prince of Wales.
