Ancient woodland at Dinefwr near Llandeilo in South Wales is to be dedicated to The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) in celebration of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Comprising of Dinefwr Park, cared for by National Trust Cymru and Dinefwr Castle Woods, managed by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, the woodlands at Dinefwr will be one of 70 dedicated to a network of Ancient Woodlands across the United Kingdom. A new trade event connecting Wrexham producers and businesses will launch next week as part of an effort to boost local trade, reduce food miles and grow the local economy. Young people in Cardiff will soon have the opportunity to train to become qualified leisure centre staff thanks to a new partnership between Urdd Gobaith Cymru and Better Cardiff. Both organisations have joined forces to recruit young people to its new apprenticeship scheme with, initially, six vacancies being available at six leisure centres Better operates in the city including Llanishen, Western and Star Centres.
