South Wales Police can confirm that the death of a 53 year old local man following an incident where a firearm had been discharged at the address in Mill Road, Ynysybwl, on Tuesday morning (27 April, 2021), is not being treated as suspicious. An investigation is continuing into the circumstances surrounding the death on behalf of the Coroner. Specially trained officers are continuing to support the man’s family.

Dog owners are being reminded the annual Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) covering Aberavon Beach and its promenade comes into effect on May 1st and lasts until September 30th , 2021. This prohibits dogs from entering a designated part of the beach and requires dogs to be on a lead at all times on the promenade. Dog owners can be prosecuted for failure to comply with the order.
