A new fund has been launched to help make a range of Vale of Glamorgan venues available as remote workspaces. The idea behind the scheme is to offer people work facilities within their localities, avoiding the need to commute to an office. Cowork Local Festival will be launched across the Vale in May with an online platform showcasing the type of spaces that people can work from. Three charities in Wales will receive a share of almost £1.2 million funding from the ScottishPower Foundation, which supports incredible projects that make a positive impact on people and communities across the country. Christmas has come early for a Denbighshire primary school which is earning itself much-needed funds thanks to a partnership with a high street giant. Enterprising Ysgol Y Parc Infants school in Denbigh have installed a storage unit from local company Lock Stock Self Storage and are selling surplus stock from Poundland in Rhyl to raise cash for classroom supplies. South Wales Police can confirm that the death of a 53 year old local man following an incident where a firearm had been discharged at the address in Mill Road, Ynysybwl, on Tuesday morning (27 April, 2021), is not being treated as suspicious. Swansea’s leisure centres are gearing up to re-open as soon as their lockdown is over. Dog owners are being reminded the annual Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) covering Aberavon Beach and its promenade comes into effect on May 1st and lasts until September 30th , 2021. This prohibits dogs from entering a designated part of the beach and requires dogs to be on a lead at all times on the promenade. Dog owners can be prosecuted for failure to comply with the order.
