Local Welsh charity, City Hospice, is encouraging people (and their pets) to don their festive gear for its Jolly Jumper campaign this Christmas. The aim of the campaign is to bring a little joy to the festive period, while raising much needed funds for the Cardiff-based hospice. Road improvements and repairs are set to get a £2m cash injection over the coming months under proposals being seen by Swansea Council’s Cabinet next week. Some of the money is already being earmarked for street re-surfacing across the entire city, starting in Uplands with more to follow in the coming weeks. Yesterday, the Education Minister for Wales announced that secondary schools and colleges in Wales will move to online learning from Monday, December 14 as part of a ‘national effort to reduce transmission of coronavirus’. Cardiff Council has now taken the decision that all Primary Schools will also finish face-to-face learning at the end of the day on Tuesday, December 15. Funding worth £31m to support essential flood repair work in Wales has been agreed with the UK Government, Finance Minister Rebecca Evans has said.
