Snowdonia National Park experienced its busiest ever visitor day in living memory this weekend. Only 24 hours after the Prime Minister issued tighter measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, these were the unprecedented scenes in Snowdonia yesterday. The Snowdonia National Park Authority is now calling upon Government to institute clearer measures to protect people and rural communities in Wales. Emergency legislation to protect renters and landlords affected by COVID-19 will apply to Wales, Minister for Housing and Local Government, Julie James has confirmed. The Welsh Government has agreed that measure being developed by the UK Government, to suspend evictions from social or private rented accommodation will apply to Welsh tenants. New protection under the emergency bill will include: Landlords will be unable to start possession proceedings to evict tenants for at least a three month period during the crisis and; The three month mortgage payment holiday will be extended to Buy to Let mortgages to protect landlords. Following a stabbing and a number of incidents believed linked to it, South Wales Police has issued a Section 60 Notice which gives officers the authority to stop and search anyone in the Tremorfa area. The Section 60 Notice will take effect from 11am today (Sunday, March 22) and will last for a period of 24 hours. PureGym has closed all of its gyms across the UK, following the latest Government advice. The popular gym chain had vowed to stay open for as long as possible by introducing social distancing measures and upping their hand sanitiser and cleaning facilities.
