Motorists are advised to plan ahead before they travel as major road works are set to begin on the A470 between Talerddig and Dolfach with a total closure of the road from 31st October until 20th December 2024, The work will provide a permanent solution on this stretch of road which has had traffic management in place since an emergency closure in October 2023, when a retaining wall which supported the road partially collapsed. A slowdown in demand in the housing market in Wales is leading to a cautious outlook amongst surveyors for the final quarter of the year, according to the latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). A net balance of -43% of surveyors in Wales reported that new buyer enquiries fell through September which is the lowest this balance has been since October 2023, and the lowest balance across all the UK regions. Work has been completed on five new energy-efficient bungalows on the site of the former ambulance station in Nelson, Caerphilly. Not-for-profit housing association United Welsh worked with Caerphilly County Borough Council and Welsh Government to bring these high quality, energy-efficient homes to the community. A Cardiff drug dealer caught with cocaine and cash has been jailed. Kamil Ernest, 19, of Grangetown, Cardiff wasn’t at his family home in Fairwater when police officers turned up unannounced on July 9. But officers located him in a nearby park where they searched him and found hundreds of pounds in cash and wraps of crack cocaine.
